The objective of this article is to provide new considerations on the behavior of the guild of architects in Mexico City during the 18th century. For this purpose, the article will rely on two case studies that involve the most representative architects of the time. After its analysis, we will extract certain particularities that will allow us to observe and highlight situations related to the behavior of the guild as an institution and the way in which its members followed, governed and organized themselves in accordance with the criteria established in compliance with their issued Ordinances. in 1599, as well as subsequent attempts to update them. With all this, a new perspective will be offered for the study of this organization and its main regulations, which were in constant transformation.
